Critical components of project management are:

  • Time – the intended duration of the work
  • Cost – the budget allocated for the work

click hierarical structure

Buying space on the ClickUp

First of all, we must have a space on ClickUp for our organization. We can use the feature of the ClickUp as per our purchasing plan of the ClickUp.

Folder as a service

After purchasing the space over the ClickUp platform, we can use the folder as per our clients' service. We will be organized to manage and differentiate the project according to our services.

List as a project

After naming the service, we can create the list in the respective services folder. We can call the list as per the name of the project. For this, we can easily understand which project is for which service.

Creating Task

After creating the project list, we can make the task in every list as per the requirement of the project/client. The job can be assigned to the team member using the assignee feature and accordingly, we can use the other parts of the Click Up, for example, due date, description of the task, attachment, time tracking.

Creating Subtas

If any task has many subtasks, we can create the subtask and their subtask and assign them to our team members. We can also use the same features for subtasks as we can use them for a task.

Steps to manage project at the Task level

Steps to manage project at the Task level

Set assignee to the task

After creating the tasks and subtasks in the list then we set the assignee to each task and subtask so that team members can start their work. For this, the team members will get notifications.

Set due date and estimated time

On ClickUp, we set a due date and estimated time of the tasks and subtask so that the assignee can complete the assigned task as per the estimated time and due date.

Add a description to task/Subtask

We will add the description or guideline for the task in the description box of the task/subtask so that the assignee gets the clarity to perform the assigned task.

Add attachment/checklist/template

We can also add the attachments/checklist/template to any of the tasks/subtasks as per the requirement of the project or as per the need of the job to be performed by the assignee.

Change the status

When the assignee starts work on the task, then they need to change the status of the tasks/subtask as per the status defined on the Click Up.

Time Tracking

After getting all the required information to perform the task, the assignee can start work on the assigned task by clicking on the time tracking icon on the study, which shows us how much time the assignee has spent on the job.

Add Comments

If the work is completed or the assignee has some queries, they can also use the comment section and mention the team member's name. And project managers or other team members also can comment and reply to specific comments.
