1. What is the Latest in Marketing Hub?

Let's explore the latest updates within HubSpot Marketing Hub!

1.1 Manage/Edit Email Templates

Applies to: Marketing Hub Professional, Enterprise

You can now create, edit, and manage email templates in the Drag & Drop editor in HubSpot. You don’t have to rely on saving emails as templates anymore and don’t have to overwrite them every time you want to make a change.

How does it Work?

  • Navigate to Marketing > Email in your HubSpot account
  • Click on create email
  • Select email type
  • On the template screen, there are two options:
    Manage Saved Templates: From here, you have a choice to preview, edit, clone, delete or use this template
    Create New Template: Click ‘Create New Template’, on the next tab, give a name to your template.

1.2 A/B Tests Emails in Workflows

Applies to: Marketing Hub Professional, Enterprise

Finally! One of the most awaited updates is here. Now you can use workflows to send your A/B test emails.

How does it Work?

  • Navigate to Marketing > Email in your HubSpot account
  • Create an email
  • On the top left of the email editor, click ‘run a test'
  • Create two email variants
  • Save the emails for automation
  • Now navigate to Automation > Workflows
  • Create a workflow
  • Click on the ‘+' icon
  • Select action ‘Send email' from the right panel
  • Select the email you have creates A/B test for

1.3 Commenting Upgrades

Applies to: Marketing Hub Professional, Enterprise

With the new update, you can attach or highlight comments directly to individual parts of the asset that you're working on.

How does it Work?

When you hover over the ‘Comment’ button in the collaboration sidebar, you will see two options, ‘Comment mode’ and ‘View comments’.

1.4 Scheduled Workflow Trigger

Applies to: Operations Hub Professional, Enterprise

This new update will make workflow functionality more powerful. Now you can schedule workflow triggers on pre-defined intervals to support your recurring events. 

Workflow triggers usually when they meet specific criteria but they don't work for repetitive business processes that aren't tied to a specific change or event but need to happen on a regular cadence.

For example,
You have to send an internal email to your team every day at 11 AM
Or,
You need to send reminders to your team at the end of every month to send you the monthly report. 

With the new update, this is now possible through workflows.

How does it Work?

  • Navigate to Automation > Workflows
  • Select the type of workflow you want to create from the left-hand side of the page
  • From the right-hand side, click the ‘Schedule’ option
  • From the ‘Schedule’ dropdown, select the frequency
  • Set the time from the ‘Time of the day’ tab
  • Click â€˜Next’ to set triggers and actions of the workflow

1.5 Workflow Details Page

Applies to: Marketing Hub Professional, Enterprise; Sales Hub Professional, Enterprise; Service Hub Professional, Enterprise

HubSpot has brought an improved detail page for workflows where you can check its performance, actions log, and history. 

This change will bring a single page for every active workflow that shows enrollment and action data. Now, the customers don’t have to navigate to different places to find the information. This change will also support visualizing sudden changes through enhanced enrollment reporting. You will now have improved and consistent reporting on workflow activity.

How does it Work?

  • Navigate to Automation > Workflow in your HubSpot account
  • Click on a workflow that you have turned on
  • This will open the detail page
  • Here you will see the performance, actions logs, enrollment history

1.6 Supporting LinkedIn Data within the past Year

Applies to: All Plans and Products

According to LinkedIn's data retention policy, HubSpot cannot store or display any page or post data i.e impressions, clicks, interactions from LinkedIn after one year of page connection within a HubSpot portal.

How does it Work?

Navigate to Marketing > Ads and connect your LinkedIn account with your HubSpot account

LinkedIn terms and conditions for data relating to administration and reporting for an organization’s LinkedIn page e.g summary of social actions, number of followers, visitor information, force us to delete customer page-level data after one year even if the account is connected.

2. What is the Latest in Sales Hub?

Explore the latest updates within HubSpot Sales Hub!

2.1 Sync Deals via Data Sync Integrations

Applies to: All Plans and Products

This update will let you sync contacts, companies, and deals two ways and in real time between HubSpot and other apps.

Deal sync applies to most CRM apps powered by data sync: Zoho, Dynamics, Netsuite, Outreach, SugarCRM, Zendesk Sell, Insightly, ActiveCampaign, FollowUpBoss, Copper, Bullhorn, Close, Keap, Ontraport, Freshsales Suite, and Connectwise Manage.

How does it Work?

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketplace on the upper right corner
  • Search for the app you want to integrate with your account
  • Click install app
  • Login to your app account
  • Click allow once you had reviewed the access permissions
  • Configure sync settings and then set up sync rules

3. What is the Latest in CRM?

3.1 Latest Source Property

Applies to: All Plans and Products

The latest source contact property will give you deep insight into lead generation by tracking the last source by which a contact arrived on your website. This is a default HubSpot property and includes two drill-down properties that will give a full picture of the factors driving viewers to your website, blog, etc.

How does it Work?

  • Navigate to Settings > Properties in your HubSpot account
  • Search for Latest Source Property
  • Use this property in lists, or workflows, or reports and other tools

3.2 Testing Emails in Sandboxes

Applies to: Marketing Hub Enterprise; Sales Hub Enterprise; Service Hub Enterprise

If you are an Enterprise customer with HubSpot and have already set up your Sandbox account, you can now test email sends from there. Sandboxes now have a new list functionality that will only send emails to email addresses associated with users on the Sandbox account.

How does it Work?

You can send emails from your portals the same way you always do, but emails sent to email addresses that do not belong to users on that account will fail. If you are using transactional email, then you need to resync your Sandbox to enable the transactional email or delete your Sandbox and create a new one.

4. What is the Latest in CMS?

4.1 Apex Domain Redirects & Custom Domain Security

Applies to: CMS Hub Starter, Professional, Enterprise

The new update will allow CMS Hub Starter portals to support apex domain redirects to subdomains connected in HubSpot. Examples of apex domains, also known as root or naked domains are hubspot.com or websites.com.

CMS Hub Starter also supports custom domain security for all domains connected to HubSpot.  

How does it Work?

Apex Domain Redirect:

  • Navigate to the Settings > Domain & URLs in your HubSpot account
  • Select Connect a domain > Redirect > Connect 
  • Complete the connection of the apex domain in the wizard

Custom domain:

  • Navigate to the Settings > Domain & URLs in your HubSpot account
  • Locate the domain in question, 
  • Click â€˜Edit’ and select ‘Update domain security settings’
  • In the resulting modal, select the ‘Security headers’ tab
