Start your journey on the official ISED website and create an account to access the program.

Step 1: Create a CDAP account. Visit the official ISED website and create a My Canada Business Account. Think of this as your personal hub for accessing the program. Choose one of these three options:

  • Email: Simple and recommended for most users.
  • GCKey Sign In: If you have one, this offers a quick and secure login.
  • Interac Sign In: Another fast option if you use their services.

Step 2: Verify your email. Confirm you have control over the address used for your account.

Step 3: Verify your identity. Choose the most convenient option:

  • Verify online (recommended): Quick and easy through your financial institution.
  • Visit a Canada Post Outlet: In-person verification for added security.
  • Request an appointment: Speak with a CDAP officer for personalized assistance.

No need to wait! You can check your eligibility instantly using your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) My Business credentials.

Step 1: Provide consent. Grant CDAP access to your CRA business information.

Step 2: Log in to CRA. Use your My Business Account credentials for seamless verification.

Step 3: See your result. Congratulations! If eligible, proceed to complete your application.

Step 4: Provide additional information. Share necessary details about your business.

Step 5: Sign the agreement & access advisors. Review and sign the CDAP grant agreement, then access the Digital Advisor Marketplace to find your perfect guide.

Now that you have access to the marketplace, find the ideal Digital Advisor to customize your DAP.

Step 1: Meet the advisors. Browse profiles or find your preferred advisor if you already know who you want to work with.

Step 2: Connect & choose. Interview and select the advisor who best aligns with your needs and goals.

Step 3: Collaborate & create. Work closely with your chosen advisor to develop a tailored DAP for your business.

Step 4: Finalize & invoice. Once the plan is complete, get a final invoice from your advisor for their services.

With your finalized DAP and invoice in hand, you're ready to claim your grant payment.

Step 1: Review requirements. Ensure your DAP meets all CDAP specifications listed on the DAP Requirements page.

Step 2: Log in & upload. Use the CDAP Applicant Portal to submit your DAP, invoice, final cost (including taxes), and your advisor's company name.

Step 3: Claim processed. CDAP reviews your submission and, if approved, issues your grant payment within 30 days.

Please note: Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) may conduct audits to ensure program compliance. Be prepared to provide additional information if needed and work with your Digital Advisor to maintain accurate records of your engagement with them.

Use the Business spotlights within the marketplace to find inspiration and explore how other businesses have tackled similar goals with CDAP.

Log in to your CDAP portal and click “Find a digital adoption advisor” to access the marketplace. Here, you'll find a comprehensive list of qualified advisors. Use these filters to refine your search:

  • Industry: Align advisors with your specific sector for targeted expertise.
  • Services: Find advisors specializing in areas like cybersecurity, e-commerce, or social media marketing.
  • Location: Choose advisors located near you for easier communication and collaboration.

Contact advisors who meet your criteria and conduct interviews to assess their fit. Use the provided sample interview agenda, questions, and tips to delve into their experience, methodology, and alignment with your unique needs.

Once you've selected your ideal advisor, formalize your collaboration with a clear work agreement. Open communication is key! Don't hesitate to discuss your specific needs, ask questions, and express your vision. This ensures the resulting plan truly addresses your business goals.

Once you and your advisor finalize the plan, submit it along with the invoice through the CDAP portal. The program will review your plan for compliance and, upon approval, reimburse you for your advisor fees.
