How you can create Sales Pipeline and Custom Deal Stages in HubSpot

The sales pipeline in HubSpot gives you a visual snapshot of the sales process and can help to predict the revenue.

Deal stages are the steps in the process or pipeline to help you keep track of the deal process. You can create and edit sales pipelines and stages according to your team's needs.

 

To create Deal in your HubSpot Account:

 

  • From the main menu bar of your HubSpot account, click Sales>Deals
  • In the upper right corner, click Create Deal.
  • Fill in all the details and click Create.
  • You can create and add multiple deals by clicking Create and add another deal.

Create and customize sales pipeline

  • Click the settings icon from the main navigation bar of your HubSpot account.
  • Go to CRM > Deals in the left sidebar menubar.
  • Select a pipeline to modify from the drop-down menu.
  •  Click the dropdown menu in Options to create a new pipeline, rename, reorder or delete a pipeline.
 
To create a new pipeline in HubSpot:
 
    • Click the drop-down in Options.
    • Select Create a new pipeline.
    • A new window Add another pipeline will open.
    • Enter the name of the pipeline.
    • Click Create.
 
To Reorder the pipelines:
 
    • Click the drop-down menu in Options.
    • Select Reorder this pipeline.
    • A new window Reorder this pipeline will open with all the deal stages.
    • Click and drag the stages to reorder.
    • Click Save.
 
To Rename a pipeline:
 
      • Click the drop-down menu Options.
      • Select Rename this pipeline.
      • A new window Rename pipeline will open.
      • Enter the new name of the pipeline.
      • Click Rename.

     

    To Delete a pipeline:

     

        • Click the drop-down manu Options.
        • Select Rename this pipeline.
        • A new window Rename pipeline will open.
        • Enter the new name of the pipeline.
        • Click Rename.

        Edit deal stages

        Deal stages are the steps in deals that help you to classify and keep track of the progress of the deal that you are working on.

        Each deal stage has a win probability associated with it, showing the probability of closing deals marked with that deal stage.

        • By default, HubSpot has defined the following 7 deal stages:
          • Appointment scheduled (20%)
          • Qualified to buy (40%)
          • Presentation scheduled (60%)
          • Decision-maker bought-in (80%)
          • Contract sent (90%)
          • Closed won (0% Won)
          • Closed lost (0% Lost)
        To Edit a deal stage:
        • Click the settings icon from the main navigation bar of your HubSpot account.
        • Go to SalesDeals from the left side menubar.

         

        To Rename an existing deal stage:

         

          • Click on the name of the existing stage name,
          • Enter a new name.
          • Click Save.

         

        To Add a new deal stage:

         

          • Click on Add a deal stage, enter name.
          • Click Save.

         

        To Delete a deal stage:

         

          • Hover over the deal name.
          • An option Delete will appear next to deal stage name.
          • Click Delete.
          • Click Save.

         

        To change the win probability of a deal stage:

        You can change the win probability of closing a deal at a particular stage.

         

          • Click the drop-down menu at Win probability, and select an option.
          • You can also create a custom probability. Enter a custom probability like 75%  in the search field, and click the Add option

         

        To customize your deal stage properties:

        You can edit the deal properties presented for users to fill in when a deal is moved to this stage.

         

        • Hover over the deal stage, and you will see an Edit Property option.
        • A new window 'Update deal stage properties will open.'
        • From the left side of the window, search for the property or properties you'd like to add, then click the checkbox to select that property.
        • To require a value for the property, click the checkbox in the Required column next to Selected Properties for that property on the right side of the window.
        • Click Save.
